Du composé organique dont il tire son nom Pethrol possède l’énergie précieuse et l’infinie complexité pour qui sait y prêter attention. Une substance par essence (sans mauvais jeu de mot) curieuse et fascinante : tellurique et pourtant à la croisée des éléments, eau, terre et feu, naturelle mais souvent raffinée, vibrante des innombrables possibilités de la vie, quand elle recèle à travers l’humain une face plus sombre.

La couleur justement parle elle aussi du groupe : un noir de jais, profond et épais qui, traité, renvoi par reflet l’intégralité des nuances du spectre lumineux.

Cet oxymore que Pethrol renferme en son sein s’exprime évidemment à travers sa musique. Mêlant douceur et brutalité, celle-ci oscille doucement entre deux horizons. Un univers où se lie l’onirique et le réel, le spirituel et l’initiatique, le poétique et le violent. Golden Mean rappelle justement ces lignes de mire, du juste milieu cher à Aristote au nombre d’or, en passant par la référence plus directe au nom du précédent EP, Black Gold. Une empreinte mystique qui habite jusqu’aux titres de l’opus, puisque la licorne croise Narcisse ou l’Ouroboros et qui fait de cet opus une source de jaillissements dense.

Pethrol is composed of 3 members; two of them are on the stage. The group began its development in January 2013, building a complete team around the project.

Composition and creation’s work came from a hybrid choice: to mix acoustic and digital sounds.

On the stage, the duo is a battery and a formula voice, difficult to classify in a specific category of music. Pethrol is often considered as a part of the new wave electro by the public. Pethrol is an ambitious and current project able to reach both a massive public and an elitist target.

Having a large artistic potential and a strong visual identity, the band was immediately warmly welcomed by professionals from the music industry.
Armed with a first successful efficient clip, followed by a well criticized EP entitled “Black Gold” Pethrol had prepared a second draft produced, edited and supported by JFX lab, the new Jarring Effects ‘net label.
